Yes, when you edit a raw photo it is still considered manipulation. You manipulated the shadows to a level that past what your raw image file could accurately handle. This left you with very bad looking grainy shadow areas.
I am right about the tree...And no, trees do not grow with Chromatic Aberration around the edges! LMAO That is a phenomena caused by light bending through your lens, and easily correctable in post. By cranking your clarity all the way it made the problem look much worse.
